Kato N Unitrack is selling fast especially since the excellent 'Model Rail' review and We've had lots of interest- the quality and value of this track speaks for itself. Some sets  have sold out but don't worry more comming soon.
 
Kato are one of the top N gauge ranges and produce quality models of various Japanese, American and European models on limited production runs.
 
Whilst we are happy to order any items available through the UK sole distributor our stocks consist of mainly N gauge unitrack sections and starter kits detailed below. Accessories and selected rolling stock are being added slowly to our growing range.
 
 
 
Kato Unitrack is the No.1 track system in Japan where permanent layouts are quite rare amongst the estimated 9 million modellers. The track has been designed to withstand repeated set up and break down and of course is great for more permanent layouts too.
 
The track is pre ballasted and raised allowing point motors to be fitted under the trackwork as standard to all turnouts. There are also numerous additional items such as bridges and incline piers, buildings etc.
 
Compatability and Cost
 
Kato Unitrack is compatable with other makes of track and rolling stock, for example to join to peco setrack or streamline (code 80 universal) all you need to do is remove the clip on Unijoiner and fit standard fishplates bearing in mind that the track height will need raising up to the pre ballasted level which is simply done by using cork or other underlay. Kato track systems are also DCC compatable (except signals and automatic level crossing)
 
Kato Unitrack is not expensive with a basic oval set at just under £22. A straight section 248mm (9 3/4") is just £1.25 (supplied only in 4s per pack for £4.99). Points do seem on first inspection quite expensive but then you need to take into account that they are long 15 degree radius, have the motors fitted and are pre ballasted therefore hastle free, this makes the price comparable with other makes. Take for example this Scissors crossing at £41.99 then remember included are the equivalent of 4 point motors which would cost typially £16 on their own for other brands.
