Before I start I must say I am no
Wargaming expert these notes have been put together with my limited
knowledge of the subject mainly to help complete beginners and to help the
more experianced wargamer find items I stock which may be helpful. If
I've made errors let me know!
Rules for wargaming are very varied and
often taylor made for a specific battle or specific rules for individual
players. I found some rules just by simply doing a 'Google' search for
'Wargaming Rules'.
Wargaming can be divided between
Fantasy and Historic battles.
Fantasy
Fantasy seems to be divided further
between Future, Traditional and Ancient. Futuristic figures are
things like marines with packs (eg Warhammer 40k Space Marines), then
theres others that are more traditional like Wizzards-these are more Role
playing than wargaming, then there's things like skelletons which I've
called Ancient (probably wrong term) or Undead.
We no longer stock Games Workshop
Ranges but we do carry a limited amount of Mage Knight and Heroclix
Figures. We are also looking at the Zvesda range but finding information
seems hard and the importers seem disinterested in suppling catologues
etc. A very limited amount of items are listed in the kits
section.
Historic
These are very popular and cover
specific battles or time periods such as Ancient, Napoleonic or WWII,
these are usually scale models and figures usually 1:72 although a limited
(by space and cost) battle is possible in 1:35 or 54mm. Our 54mm
range is very limited and not enough for a wargame. Our 1:35 range
(WWII-Present) is respectable covering vehicles and figures.

lists.
1:72 is by far our most extensive range
covering many periods, for vehicles and figures click here to see
our lists (for all time periods). 1:72 scale also has the advantage of
being acceptably near to OO railways (1:76) where there is a massave range
of buildings and accessories or even trains!
Scenery
Wargaming is usually played on some
sort of diarama which at its basic consists of just a grass mat,
others build complex detailed scenery. Some people really enjoy this
others prefer to buy prepainted modular items. We stock items for both
interests and are further detailed below. Clicking on the brand takes you
to the page with more details.
